Unburdened

There are a few places

where burdens are set aside

temporarily melted away.
Oceans

with the majestic waves

crashing in with power

washing out with grace
Lakes

calmly reflecting sunrise

glass, glistening in gentle movements
Forests

Trees reaching the sky

like soldiers of protection

straight and solid

pointing upward

where worries dissipate

and promises await unveiling
Columns of sentries

reassuring me that time will deliver healing

that seasons will assuage pain

that burdens can be laid down

on the forest bed of needles

and a gentle breeze can be a reminder of peace.
